College Guidance

College Guidance

At Farber Hebrew Day School, college preparation begins early in high school.  College prep courses are the core curriculum at Farber, and we also offer a variety of Honors level and/or AP courses to high school students.   Focus on the college application process begins in 10th Grade, when students take college entrance practice tests and each student is provided with their own Personal College Planning Guide.  The Guide is created and updated every 3 months, in order to help students navigate the complex process of college applications and keep them focused on the importance of preparation.  Individual, small group and class meetings are held with the Director of Student Services.  This keeps students well-informed and helps to alleviate unnecessary anxiety when the application process is begun in earnest during August prior to their senior year.

Ms. Korelitz coordinates and facilitates the college application process with the students and works very closely with members of the senior class as they venture into the world beyond Farber – learning about themselves, learning to self-advocate, and becoming increasingly independent.
